About me

Through my writing, I explore mindfulness in everyday life, the spiritual aspect of religions, and the contemplative traditions of the Indian subcontinent. I hope to bring the lens of contemporary questioning to bear on ancient traditions, so that we can benefit from their wisdom in the context of our own lives.

My published books are Women Awakened, Dharamsala Diaries, Sadhus and Shamans, Himalayan Art, and Buddhism: On the Path to Nirvana. My writing regularly appears in newspapers and magazines, and you will get to read these on this blog.

If you would like to commission an article or piece of writing, or just share your thoughts with me, please write to me at swati@swatichopra.com. Thanks!
